Let’s Go to the Carnival!
November 4th, 2007 by Liz Fuller
It was a busy week for Carnivals, and I have found some great articles of interest to Women Entrepreneurs.
If you work from home, you don’t want to miss the Working at Home on the Internet Carnival This week Todd Goldfarb has some terrific tips in 8 Ways to Increase Effectiveness when Working from Home posted at We The Change.
The Mothers in Business Carnival has some interesting ideas for Women Entrepreneurs, whether you are a mother or not. Be sure to check out Holly Ord’s article on Utilizing Sk*rt posted at Woman Tribune. Sk*rt is a new site similar to Digg but geared to women’s interests.
Over at the Carnival of Network marketing Stacey Derbinshire shares some first-rate practical information on Getting Started Forming Your Own LLC Business posted at Starting a Small Home Business, . If you are based in the US and haven’t set your business up as an Limited Liability Company (LLC), you’re sure to want to read this article and find out how to protect yourself.
If you’ve ever dreamed of an Ivy League education but couldn’t afford to relocate or take the time away from work (I can’t be the only one!) then you won’t want to miss Joy Miller’s article Ivy League universities now offer online degrees and certificates posted at Online College Blog. Joy’s article and a huge collection of others can be found at the Carnival of Business Success.
If you’re still dreaming of finding your life’s passion, you will want to read Brad Bollenbach’s article Finding Your Passion posted at 30 sleeps.
Brad says, “Figuring out what you truly love to do is about much more than asking yourself the right questions. It’s about backpacking through the world of experience, and activating your Weird Idea Radar.” (I just love that phrase “backpacking through the world of experience”)
Brad’s article is just one of many inspirational articles you’ll want to read at the Personal Development Carnival
At the E3 Carnival of Success Principles John Crenshaw uses a compelling metaphor about piloting a plane to illustrate the need to stay on top of your business, in Are You Proactive or Reactive? posted at Dominate Your Life. I’ve never flown a plane, but his article got my toes tingling, envisioning what it must be like.
And last but never least is the Carnival of Small Business Issues hosted this week at Business Opportunities and Ideas This week John W. Furst of E-Biz Booster Blog reminds us of what business is all about - serving our customers, in his article Discover The Benefit Of Customer Service .
The Carnival of Small Business Issues is a traveling Carnival - look for it to be hosted at More Than WE Know, on November 20th.
That’s it for the carnivals this week, but I also have one bonus recommendation:
A short (4 min) video by Anita Campbell - Dawn, A Small Business Trends Video. It’s an inspiring video that reminds us to lift our heads up out of our daily business challenges and look ahead at what’s on the horizon.
Anita gives several recommendations for anticipating and responding to change - my favorite is Carve out Thinking Time Daily. Watch her video and discover more ideas you can put into action.
