Last Carnival Round-up of the Year!

December 30th, 2007 by Liz Fuller

629051_merry-go-round1.jpgThis week’s carnival ride ties in with the annual tradition of setting New Year’s Resolutions.

Here are mine for 2008: Be bold, get organized, appreciate yourself and take a risk!

1) Be Bold

This resolution finds support at the E3 Carnival of Success Principles Lorraine Cohen presents Letting Yourself Have Outrageous Success and Personal Happiness posted at Powerfull Living, saying, “How often do you say no to the people and things that would increase your business success and personal happiness? Learn key tips to change your nos to YES!”

2) Get Organized

This resolution finds tons of support at the Working at Home Blog Carnival in which Sagar presents Be Your Own Virtual Assistant: 100 Tools to Keep Yourself Accountable and Organized posted at Bootstrapper. I can’t wait to dig through these tools and find a few time-saving tricks!

3) Appreciate Yourself

This resolution found support at the All Women Blogging Carnival. I found this absolutely charming article written by Akemi. She makes you realize that what you view as your imperfections may be the very same traits that others value most about you. How to Love your Imperfections posted at Gratitude Magic is a reassuring article that I’m going to keep close at hand in 2007!

4) Take a Risk!

This resolution found support at the Carnival of the Capitalists hosted this week at the Journal Blog . Can You Really Make Money Showing People “How To”?, posted at KentonNewby.com assumes that there is an abundance of opportunity for both you and for your competitors. So much so, that it’s even okay to turn your customers into your competitors by teaching them how you succeed.

I love this idea that by sharing the secrets of our success, we all grow stronger. At first it sounds like taking a risk, but in reality we risk much more when we cut ourselves off from others due to fear.

That’s the carnival for this week - hope you found some inspiration and support for some New Year’s Resolutions of your own!!

Thank you for including my post. I think we, both women and men, tend to undermine our own beauties, and writing this article was reassuring for myself.

    Hi Akemi
It’s a magical thing when we write something to soothe ourselves, and also help others.

    Thanks for sharing.

On your point about sharing secrets and growing stronger, I just did a post about ideas and I found a really good quotes that I think really emphasize on your idea:

“If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas.”
    - George Bernard Shaw

Thanks for writing this post! Have a happy new year!

    Hi Edward

What a great quote to end the year/start the year with!

You’ve articulated the vision of this blog in particular and blogging in general - the exchange, proliferation and nurturing of ideas.

    Thank you. Happy New Year!
    Liz
