Southgate Acknowledge Rooney’s career is not over yet
England coach Gareth Southgate finally spoke to the media about the improved performance that was proven by Wayne Rooney Judi Dadu.
31-year-old player is known recently decided to return to his childhood club, Everton in the transfer market this summer with the status of Free Transfer.
Reportedly it will be difficult to develop a game scheme implemented by Ronald Koeman for the main team of The Toffees, Rooney just proved the opposite is different to the public.
He was able to become field general for Everton’s young squad in their first two Premier League games for the season, and managed to draw a draw and a win last week.
In two games, Rooney was able to prove that he has not finished, with two goals he won a successful score, and Southgate also admitted very satisfied with the improved performance of the former Manchester United player at the beginning of this season.
“I always tell him that the England team’s doors will never be closed to him, and that also applies to every player who deserves to wear England’s national team uniform,” Southgate told local media.
“He has made a remarkable contribution to the England team all along, and so many parties have placed a great deal of respect for him. And I think, right now he is in the right situation to get back up.
“And as a football player, he has had everything, has won everything. However, one thing he can achieve right now is to appear in an international match with England, and to present trophies at international level.
“And seeing from the current performance, I do not think it’s a strange thing if I try to give Rooney a chance. He has been through difficult things before, and I think he deserves a second chance. “
